The Woolworth Building
The Woolworth Building -- tallest in the world from 1913 until 1929 --
was the headquarters of the five- and ten-cent store empire and an advertisement for the business around the world.
But, as the section of the building and the partial list of tenants show, the Woolworth Company occupied only the 23rd and 24th floors, while the other fifty-three floors were leased to more than a thousand tenants, most of which occupied one or two room suites.
