The Skyscraper Museum

The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. This site will look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.

THE POLL'S 25 CANDIDATES

The Museum's director selected the 25 candidates for the Top 10 poll. These represented a spectrum of significant skyscrapers, from the turn of-the-20th-century Park Row Building to the Time Warner Center, the first major skyscraper of the 21st century. Towers of each major period, all still standing, were included, but many buildings of merit did not make the list. Poll respondents were encouraged to write in alternative favorites.

The 25 buildings are listed chronoligically by date of completion.
