The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. This site will look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.

WEB PROJECTS

The Museum enhances its accessibility and enriches its exhibitions through a variety of virtual projects. The digitization of our collection allows visitors to explore the Museum's archive outside of their visit to the gallery. Additionally, the projects all seek to further the core principles of the institution: to explore tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence.

Manhattan Timeformations	An interactive map, by architect Brian McGrath with designer Mark Watkins, that explores Manhattan's skyscraper districts though time.
Tallest Towers	Skyscrapers holding the title of tallest building in the world from 1890 to the present.
Supertall Survey	A survey of supertall towers (higher than 300 meters) placed on a globe as a visual survey.

VIVA	A visually-based interface that uses a 3-D computer model of Manhattan and allows access to The Skyscraper Museum's image collections.
VIVA2: WTC & ESB	An interactive index providing access to The Skyscraper Museum's unique collection of over 1,000 construction photographs of the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center.
Web Walk	Four interactive virtual walking tours through Lower Manhattan's skyscraper canyons and more than a century of high-rise construction.
Banker's Trust Virtual Archive	An online database of documents relating to the development, design, construction, operation, and occupation of the Banker's Trust Tower (14 Wall Street).
