The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. This site will look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
Follow us up the ramp for a walk-through of Green Towers for New York. The installation examines the 15 green high-rise projects in New York City in 2006. From Corporate headquarters, rental office buildings and mixed-use institutional facilities to residental towers in Battery Park City and beyond, New York is building green. These environmentally sustainable practices complement the local climate, culture, and economy of New York City. As New Yorker writer David Owen argued in the article "Green Manhattan" last fall: "New York is the greenest community in the United States, and one of the greenest cities in the world." The exhibition explores both why this is true and how the city can do better.
