The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. This site will look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
The Middle East
While development has slowed in Dubai, the emirate already has five completed supertalls, and is joined with one each for Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait City, Riyahd, and Mecca. Just announced in August 2011 are plans to erect the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, projected to exceed 1,000 meters. (Kingdom Tower missed our July 1, 2011 cut-off date for our exhibition.)
